    • Talk about both language and structure
    • Ideally, write 3 PETAZL paragraphs. PETAZL:
      • Point
      • Evidence
      • Technique
      • Analyse
      • Zoom in (particularly on individual words. Think about the word's connotations, the meaning, and why the writer might have used it. Also think about its place within the rest of the text)
      • Link back to the Q
    • Write a conclusion if possible. Introduction is not as important, but you can still do one if you are confident on time
    • Remember that it is 15 marks, your answer needs to be worth this. At the same time, don't write too much as you still have a lot of questions left to come
    • Tip: Begin each paragraph with a topic sentence that links back to the question and describes the point that you are making
    • Answer the question, rather than just technique-spotting
    • Remember to use terminology
    • Don't forget to back your points up with evidence from the text, use lots of quotes
    • Mention the effect on the reader

      • Setting - the time/place (if you're having problems knowing what to talk about, think about where events take place in the text, and what significance this might have. Or, look at if the mood
