Osmosis - MOVEMENT OF WATER MOLECULES ACROSS A PARTICALLY PERMABLE MEMBRANE FROM AN AREA OF HIGH CONCENTRATION TO A AREA OF LOW CONCENTRATION
- Only tiny molecules like water can pass through, large molecules like sucrose can't
- Water can pass both ways as it moves about randomly
- Osmosis is a type of diffusion, just with water instead
- Experiment to prove this is using potato cylinders
