MANY FACTORS INTERACT TO CAUSE NON COMMUNICABLE DISEASES

all diseases have risk factors. Risk factors are often aspects of a persons lifestyle. They could also be a presense of a substance in their environment or a persons genes.

Many no communicable diseases are caused by several different risk factors interacting with each other rather than one alone.e.g.

Sometimes you can inherrit genetic varients that make you more susceptable to cacer. These genes alone don't mean you will get cancerbut the chance is increased if you have another risk factors such as a poor diet, high alcahol consumption and smoking.

Risk factors are identified by scientists loking for correlations in data, but correlations doesn't always equal cause. Sometimes a risk factor is linked to another factor that actually causes the disease but they can't cause it directly.
