Mitosis & Meiosis

Mitosis is a form of cell division making new cells for growth, replacement of damaged cell or for asexual reproduction. 

Before the cell starts dividing, the genetic information in the cell is spread out in long strings. When the cell gets a signal to divide, the chromosomes are copied, they then line up at the centre of the cell and cell fibres pulls the cell apart forming two new cells which contains the same number of chromosomes as the original cell.
