Mean
Basically, a Mean average = total of quantities / number of quantities
e.g. A man buys 3 different brands of paper. Their mean cost is $9.50. What is the total price of the papers?
total = mean average × number of brands
= $9.50 × 3
= $28.50
Median
The median is the number found in the middle of the set when they are listed in numerical order.
