Drugs

For drugs to be safe, they must be tested. Legal drugs are tested over many years and must pass several stages before approval.

Drugs testing allows us to know what the drug can be used for (antibiotics work against bacteria because we have tested to make sure that is the case, and we know which bacteria they are effective against), any side effects and which medical conditions/other drugs they interfere with.

Illegal drugs have not been tested, which makes them very dangerous. We don’t know what they have in them, which could lead to allergic reactions, and we don’t know the correct dosage, with could result in an overdose.
