• Reproduce asexually by simple divison of cells
• Lives in soil,water and air
• Lives as parasites in humans, animals and plants
• Can affect any area of the body
• Bacterial survival and growth depends on the effectivness of the body's defense 
• Can injure cells, disrupt tissue and protect against inflammation by producing exotoxins 

2: VIRAL INFECTION:

• Simple mircroorganism
• Viral disease most common in humans
• Transmission- one infected individual to another uninfected individual
