how did women contribute to the war effort

when Britain went to war in August 1914 women seemed no neerer to getting the vote, despite this  the suffrage movement pushed all its effort towards helping the war effort.

Women on the front line.....

  •  
    • the nurses in the French style were mainly female , Britain copied this idea
    • thousands of women worked for voluntary organisations - the salvation army provided soup kitchens for convalescing soldiers
    • the WAAC (women's auxiliary army corps) was formed…
