History Weimar

In early 1919, a new goverment took power over Germany after the defeat of WW1. It was led by Friedrich Ebert who changed Germany into a republic. 

The Weimar was set up in Weimar because at the time, there was violence in Berlin. Ebert became the President with Schiedmann as Chancellor.

Ebert was the leader of the Social Democratic Party which meant he delieved that the people should say how the country is run. 

The Weimar goverment wasn't invited to to the peace conference in 1919 therefore having no say in the Treaty of Versailles. Ebert did not want to…
