Group 1 metals are so reactive because they can easily gain or lose an electron
Group 1 metals float on water telling us they are less dense than water
I predict it will become more reactive as you go down the table because the electrons are further away from the nucleus so there is less force keeping them there.
Lithium + water ----> Lithium Hydroxide + Hydrogen
Li + H2O ----> LiOH + H2
2Li + 2H2O ----> 2LiOH + H2
Sodium + Water ----> Sodium Hydroxide + Hydrogen
Na + H20 ----> NaOH + H2
2Na + 2H2O ----> 2NaOH + H2
Potassium + Water ----> Potassium Hydroxide + Hydrogen
K + H2O ----> KOH + H2
