Covalent bonds happen between two non metals, they share electrons. There are two types of covalent bonds simple covalent bonds and giant covalent bonds.Giant covalent structures are different than simple covalent bonds, they are hard and have high melting and boling points. Some examples of giant covalent bonds are Silicon Dioxide, DIamond and graphite. SIlicon Dioxide(silica) is a giant covalent structure made from oxygen and silicon. Each silica atom forms 4 covalent bonds with four Oxygne atoms, this is repeated many times to make a giant lattice. They're properites are that they are
