Biomes
are mainly defined by one dominant type of vegetation
they form broad belts usually parrallel to lines of latitude this is beacause the climate and characteristics of ecosystems are determined by global atmospheric circulation
variations occur in these west to east belts of vegetation beacuse of factors such as the ocean currents, winds and distribution of land and sea. these create small changes in temp and moisture in which in turn effect the ecosystems
Tundra- mainly located between the artic circle
cold windy, and dry conditions support low growing plants easily damaged by developments e.g.oil exploitation, and tourism
deciduous and coniference forests…
