P – Studies conducted related to individualistic theories have been criticised for being artificial.  

E – This is because researchers often conduct their research in lab conditions. For example, Skinner conducted his research on rats in a lab environment.     

E– This is a weakness because it means that these studies lack ecological validity. It is difficult to generalise them back to real life settings. This means they may fail to explain criminal behaviour in the real world.
