- This showed conformity, as people changed their public opinion but kept there true feelings in privacy.
- Limitations of Asch's study is that it was a child of it's time.
- Thought as it was done in 1956 that it may not be relevent in modern day as back then there was Mcarthysm.
- Researchers used prisoners and their probation officers and found similar levels of conformity.
- However this might be due to it being a socially sensitive area.
- Another Limitation of Asch's study is that their may be a lack of validity.
- This is due to unconvincing confederates.
- Mori and Arai disputed this by using glasses. One participant saw the lines differently.
- They found that the results from the females groups matched the original study, however this was not the same in males.
