How are diseases spread?

Viruses

• Small
• Move into cells and makes copies of itself
• Cells burst releasing copies into the bloodstream
• Leads to sick feeling

Bacteria

• Small
• Multiply quickly through binary fission
• Produces toxins that can damage cells

Protists

• Most are parasitic (use humans and animals as their hosts)
• e.g mosquitos carries malaria

Fungi

• Single-celled or have a body made of hyphae (thread-like structures)
