Ionic Bonding - Transferring Electrons
- Ionic bonding, atoms lose or gain electrons to for charged particles (ions) which are strongly attracted to one another because of the attraction of opposite charges
One electron - Get rid of
All atoms on the left hand side of the periodic table (sodium, potassium, calcium) have just one or two electrons on the outer shell, and they want to get rid of it so they have full outer shells.
