Changes in the UK economy

How secondary activity has changed in the Uk since 1964:

Agriculture in the primary sector has started to decline. This can be because;

• Increased use of chemicals
• Development of larger, more specialist farms
• Increase in part time workers so less employment, less people working on farms

Mining in the primary sector has also declined. This may be because;

• Lots of mineral deposits are exhausted
• Damages the environment
• More machines used so less people needed
