Cell Division - Meiosis
Only cells in your reprocutive organs use meiosis. They do this to form sperm or egg cells.
Gametes have half the usual number of chromosomes
During sexual reproduction an egg and a sperm cell combine to create a zygote.
All human body cells have 46 chromosomes (23 pairs) apart from the sex cells.
These only contain 23 chromosomes each, so that when they combine to create a zygote, it will have 46 chromosomes, 23 from each parent.
