Biological approach to abnormality

Biological approach suggests that people become abnormal because of a physical cause such as brain damage and that is not because of a environmental cause.

Brain Damage is the first explanation as biological approach would suggest if our amygdala is affected then it can lead to abnormal behaviour. Research support comes from case study Phineas Cage who got hit through his head and effected his brain. Afterwards he had became very aggressive which shows that their is a connection between brain damage and abnormalities. However it can be criticised as it was an case study so it can not be taken into account as there is only one example of it and can not be generalised to the population.
