Basic assumptions:
➡mind = brain
➡behaviour & thought processes have an innate biological basis
➡genes evolved to match behaviour to our environment
➡characteristics are due to our genetic make-up
OTHER NOTES-
➡Darwin's natural selection theory is relevant. It holds that we all evolved, with genes suited for an environment surviving and being reproduced, while weaker ones dying out.
➡Much research is carried out on creatures with short gestation periods, e.g. rats, by manipulating genes to measure effects on behaviour.
