B2 4.1 Energy from Respiration
Aerobic Respiration

  • Your body works to provide your cells with oxygen and glucose need for respiration.
  • During Aerobic Respiration, glucose reacts with oxygen. This releases energy fir the cells.
  • Carbon dioxide and water are released as waste products.
  • This is called Aerobic Respiration because it uses oxygen from the air.

Equation:

Glucose + Oxygen -> Carbon dioxide + water (+ energy)

Practical Investigation

  • To show Aerobic Respiration you can either deprive an organism of  the materials it needs to respire or show the watse products.
