John Dalton thought that an atom was a solid sphere, no empty space; different spheres were made up of different elements.


Thompson discovered the electron, he thought that, due to his research into charge and mass, there had to be something small and negatively charged present in the atom.

Thompson created the "plum pudding model", positively charge sphere with negatively charged electrons in it.


Rutherford showed that Thompson's plum pudding model was wrong by shooting alpha particles at thin gold foil, most alpha particles were expected to reflect…
