Being seen by others

It is important for other road users to know you're there.

  • switch on lights when it starts to get dark
  • when you can't be seen, such as at a hump bridge, you may need to use your horn.

Turning on a dual carraige way

When turning right on a dual carraige way, check that the centeral reservation is wide enough for your vehicle to stop in. do this incase you have to wait before joining the traffic. if there isnt enough space for you vehicle, only emerge when its clear both ways.

road conditions and stopping

Road conditions will affect how easily it is to anticipate what might happen.its more difficult when:

  • the weather is very wet of windy
  • the light is poor
  • the traffic volume is heavy
  • the route you are driving is new to you.

In these conditions, you need to be particularly aware of whats happening around you.
