Geocentric model: The earth was the centre of the solar system Ptolemy- used measurements of the movements of objects in the sky to explain how the sun and the moon, moved in orbits
Heliocentric model: sun centred solar system (Copernicus)
Galileo: discovered 4 of Jupiter's moons by plotting movements(not everything orbited the earth)
This supported Copernicus' theory and more discoveries were made:
-Uranus
- Dwarf planet Pluto
- Neptune
