Roles of Professionals

• They provide ongoing care for people in the community. Including:
  • care for those who are unwell
  • providing preventative care and health education for certain service users
• Based in local health centres
• May refer someone to hospital speacilists

Main Responsibilities:

• Diagnose illnesses
• Discuss treatment
• Prescribe medication
• Monitor the treatment

There are 9 types of nurses:

• Adult Nurse
  • Work with adults of all ages
  • Based in hospitals ro GPs
  • They can work with people in their own home
  • They plan individual care, and cary out procedures and treatments
