ROBINSON

  • D took £5 which fell from the pocket of V's husband
  • V owed D £7
  • not theft as it was held this act was not dishonest... so there cannot be any robbery either!

RAPHAEL AND ANOTHER

  • Ds took V's car - theft - and demanded money for its return - robbery

CORCORAN AND ANDERTON

  • Ds tugged at V's bag, intending to take it
  • this was classed as an appropriation of property & therefore theft was complete
  • the Ds were charged with robbery, even though they left without the bag

FORCE OR A THREAT OF FORCE

DAWSON AND JAMES

  • Ds pushed V in order to steal his wallet

CLOUDEN

  • D wrenched a shopping basket in order to steal it

B & R V DPP

  • Ds surrounded and pushed V to get his phone 
  • V was not fearful of them, yet it was held there was still an application of force regardless of the V's fear

HALE

  • Ds covered V's mouth before stealing from her and tied her up after stealing from her
  • force can occur immeditaely before and after the theft and still apply
