Radioactivity- Beta, Gamma and Alpha

You can identify the type by what blocks it:

-Alpha particles are blocked by paper, skin or a few centimetres of air
-Beta particles are stopped by thin metal
-Gamma rays are blocked by thick lead or very thick concrete

REMEMBER:
-Alpha penetrates the least
-Gamma penetrates the most
-alpha is big, slow & clumsy always knocking into things
-beta is lightweight & fast
-gamma weighs nothing and moves superfast
