HIGNFY S2:

The show was on during prime time ever since it was first broadcast which means that the show gained more audience.

It was originally broadcast on BBC Two on Fridays at 10pm(prime time).

After ten years it transferred to BBC One as  BBC moved its nightly BBC One news from nine o’clock to ten o’clock(now known as the BBC News at Ten) which left a gap in the schedule.

Since 2000 the show was mostly on Fridays at 9pm. Have I Got News for You has remained in the same schedule ever since 2000 which is called *********.

Howver in 2010, it was scheduled on Thursday nights at 9pm for two series. (also ********* as the audience knew exactly when and what time it was on)

HIGNFY S3:

The episodes of the show are usually repeated on Dave, BBC Scot and BBC Wales.

They can also be watched on the BBC iPlayer which is more accessible(especially to younger audiences).

Showing the episodes of the show on different channels after they are shown on BBC One is know as audience share and BBC One benefit from borrowed interest from doing so.

HIGNFY S4:

There have been 53 series of the panel show, 53 being this year(2017).

The show aired after the BBC News at Ten which means that Have I Got News for You inherited an older generation of audiences before the year 2000.After the BBC News At Ten slot was moved to 10pm, Have I Got News for You also gained more popularity by pre-echo.

The channel  gained popularity over the years due to pre-echo and the inheriance factor which is why it stayed on BBC One as it has a wider and more mainstream audience than BBC Two.

It was attractive to people of most ages but especially adults as it contains adult humour and comedy which is why it is on after the watershed as children are expected to be in bed.

HIGNFY S5:

The BBC were able to air the show as it fitted with their ethos and identity which promotes community cohesion and teamwork, the show consists of two teams which makes it with in.

The BBC programs are also supposed to be educative and creative for a wide audience which this panel show does.

The idea that the show first aired on BBC Two was to test out its popularity and that it was able to try out new writers.
