Heat Energy

Heat is thermal energy that matter possesses.

- Can transfer from one form to another

Thermal ( infrared ) radiation travels as electromagnetic waves/ in straight lines / Speed of light

All materials/ absorb/ emit thermal radiation

Infrared camera makes an image from peoples thermal radiation

TEMP - measure of heat energy in solid/liquid/gas

Thermal energy/ Makes particles vibrate/ All have differing energies/ Objects temo measures average energy of all particles

Total Thermal Energy/ depends on no of particles : 1dm(cubed) of iron and air might be at same temp however with more particles in iron the energy would be greater

AT SAME TEMP/LARGE MASS OF SUBSTANCE/CONTAINS MORE THERMAL ENERGY/THAN SMALL MASS OF SAME SUBSTANCE
