Gravitational Potential Energy is due to height

GRAVITATIONAL POTENTIAL ENERGY = mass x g x height

Measured in JOULES (J)

Is the energy that an object has because of its gravitational field.

When an object is raised, work is done against the force of gravity and the object gains gravitational potential energy

ON EARTH THE GRAVITATIONAL FIELD STRENGTH (g) IS APPROX. 10 N/kg
