German assessment

When using weil it kicks the verb to the end: 

e.g Ich liebe meine katze weil sie sehr lustig ist. 

When using gern you put it at the end of the sentence: 

e.g Ich schwimme gern.

When using it for others you do the same: 

e.g Meine vater schwimmt gern.

Separable verbs in the present: 

e.g (auf)stehen;  ich stehe um 7 uhr auf.

Seperable verbs in the perfect: 

e.g (an)kommen; Ich bin zu Strand angekommen

Seperable verbs in the imperfect: 

e.g (zu)machte;  ich machte das Buch zu.

• There is a capital letter at the beginning of a noun: e.g Das Buch, Die Katze. 

• Haben:                                         Sein: 

     Ich habe = i have                          Ich bin = i am

    Du hast = you have                      Du bist = you are

    sie/er hat = he/she has                 sie/er ist = he/she is

    Wir haben = we have                    Wir sind = we are

    Sie haben = they have                  Sie sind = they are

To form the past tense you need haben or sein, ge and and a verb

e.g Ich habe eine handy gekauft. 

Even when there are so many other things in the sentence, the gekauft bit still goes on the end

e.g Ich habe eine handy auf samstag mit meiner freunden, in Berlin gekauft.
