Gender

• The Chinese are the most academic in theur GCSEs, with 78 per cent of girls achieving grade A*-C.
• Indians are second followed by white Irish.
• Black Caribbean's are the least academic in their GCSEs, with only 26 per cent achieving A*-C.

Teachers' expectations can affect a pupil's results. They naturally have higher expectations for Indians or the Chinese, and will nurture their learning.
