Fish

FISH

-There are 2 types of fish - dermesal and pelagic.

-dermesal fish live in deep waters and examples include plaice, cod, haddock

-pelagic fish live in shallow waters and examples include mackerel, herring, pilchard

- fresh water fish - salmon, trout, carp, pike

-oily fish contain on average 10 - 20% fat in their flesh and examples are mackerel, herring and salmon

- white fish have only less than 5% fat in their flesh and examples are whitebait, haddock and cod.

-HBV (High Biological Value) protein. Protein in fish has higher percentage of water than meat
