SECONDARY STORAGE

Secondary Storage is additional storage for data and programs.

It is needed so that data doesn't get deleted when a computer is switched off.  Therefore it is permanent and can be changed.

OPTICAL STORAGE

Optical Storage uses light from lasers to change the colour of the surface of the data area, which is read from and written to. eg CDs and DVDs
