same day as Chapter Eight. Simon awakes from the faint and see's the parachutist. Ralph and Piggy approach the other camp and become part of the dance. It becomes very violent and the end result is that they kill Simon and his body then drifts off into the sea. Simon tries to tell the others but they think he is the beast and attack him. The boys begin to chant and dance ' Kill the Beast! Cut his throat! Spill his blood!
Chapter Ten- The ~ Shell and the Glasses
the morning after Simon is killed. Ralph and Piggy discuss last night, and Piggy insists that it was an accident. Jack is chief + very violent. The leads a tribe of savages. Ralph's camp is attacked by the Tribe and Piggy's glasses are stolen and he is left blind. Jack beats those he's angry with and takes full control. Ralph, Piggy and Samneric make another fire to create smoke, and Ralph dreams of home.
