Ways to increase the rate of a reaction.
- Increase the concentration of reactants in solution as more reactant particles will comeinto contact with one another and there will be a greater chance of a successful collision occuring.
- Increase the temperature of the reaction to provide the rectants with more energy to allow successful collisions to occur. Also, it causes the reactants to move more vigourously and means that there is more chance of successful collisions occuring.
- Increase the surface area of solid reactants to allow there to be more chances that the reactants wil come into contact and increase the chances of a successful collision occuring.
- Use a catalyst in the reaction to lower the activation enargy neede for a successful colliion to occur.
