Barrister

1) Students from less wealthy backgrounds are prevented from becoming barristers as they can't afford  £15,000 fee for bar proffessional training course and they're already in debt from university (of 9,000 a year).

2) Non law graduates are under qualified, as they only study for law for 1 year  in the GDL.

3) There aren't alot of pupillage places for the number of students who pass the BPTC. In 2015 422 pupillages were avaliable for 1,500 BPTC students.

Solicitor

1) Student from less wealthy backgrounds are prevented from becoming solicitors as they can't afford the £14,000 fee for legal practice course.Students would already be in debt after university fees (9,000 a year) also having to pay an additional fee of 8,500- 11,000 for GDL course.

2) Non law graduates are under under qualified as they only study 1 year for GDL course.

3)Not enough training contracts for the number of students who pass the LPG, huge debts are run up plus the bigger problem is they're competing against legal executives who already work in law firms
