OSMOSIS- The diffusion of water from a high concentration to a low concentration
FLACCID- Plant cell has lost water so it is soft and floppy
PLASMOLYSIS- The shrinking of a plant cell due to loss of water. (cell membrane pulls away from cell wall)
TUGOR PRESSURE- The pressure exerted on the cell membrane when the cell is fully inflated
TURGID- Plant cells are full of water with their walls bowed out and pushing neighbouring cells
CRENATION- Process where cells become partially deflated and have a scalloped edge as they have shrunk
LYSIS- Cell bursts/splits
TRANSPIRATION- The evaporation of water from leaves
TRANSLOCATION- The movement of sugars from one part of a plant to another
