Fit for life HT
Different types of exercise develop different
aspects of fitness, which are measured in for
example:
Strength
Stamina
Flexibility
Agility
Speed
Cardiovascular efficiency is how well the heart

Fit for life
The heart pumps blood around the body in
blood vessels called arteries, capillaries and
veins. It beats automatically, but the rate varies
depending on the body's level of stress and
exertion.
Blood pressure is measured in millimetres of
mercury, mmHg. There are two measurements:
Systolic pressure - the higher measurement when
the heart beats, pushing blood through the arteries,
and
Diastolic pressure - the lower measurement when
the heart rests between beats…read more

Aerobic respiration
Aerobic respiration requires oxygen. It happens in cells when
glucose reacts with oxygen. Here are the word and symbol
equations:
glucose + oxygen carbon dioxide + water (+ energy)
C6H12O6 + 6O2 6CO2 + 6H2O (+ energy)
Anaerobic respiration
Anaerobic respiration does not need oxygen. It happens when
there is not enough oxygen for aerobic respiration. Here is the
word equation:
glucose lactic acid (+ energy)
Much less energy is released by anaerobic respiration than by
aerobic respiration.…read more
