Augustine's Theodicy (354430 AD)
God is omnipotent, omniscient, omnibenevolent
God created a perfect world
Angels and humans bought moral evil into the world through abuse of freewill
Natural evil results from the breakdown of the natural order following moral evil
Evil is an absence of good, not a substance, so God cannot have created it
Everyone was present in Adam, so everyone deserves to suffer as punishment
God's mercy means that some will saved and go to heaven
This is a souldeciding theodicy you start with freedom, and it is your choice whether you choose
good or bad
