Yalta Conference 1945

Similarities

Germany will be split into 4 zones each controlled by USA Britain France and Soviet Union
Germany to pay 20 billion in reparations - half to go to Soviet Union
United Nations set up. First meeting to be held on 25th April 1945 - all nations can join
Stalin join the war against Japan
Borders of Poland returned to as they were in 1921- + for SOviet Union as they would have more land
Free elections in Poland

Differences

Stalin wanted all 16 Soviet Republics to be given independent membership. USA and France disagreed so instead only Russia, Ukraine and Belarus were admitted.
Stalin wanted pro communist gov in Poland. Britain wanted non communist London Poles

Overall comparison

Relations get worse as they no longer have a common aim as Germany has been defeated. Huge disagreements about Poland especially - problems start to emerge.
