Overall comparisonThey are very similar poems on the surface, as they are written by romantic writers and about nature, reflecting on life. However, when analysed more closely, they are actually very different as different language devices, structures and time settings are used. The poets are also very different ages and have different outlooks, though both are reflective, The Prelude is only about Wordsworth, whereas To Autumn can be applies to everybody. In conclusion, I prefer To Autumn because of its clear structure and meaning. |
