Effects

this should lead to lower prices as goods can be imported for a lower price e.g. low wage countries also home firms will lower price due to competition.
many goods we have today would not be available if we did not have global trade e.g. kiwis
increased competition will lead to higher quality goods as they will need to have the best possible product to compete globally.

Overall summary

this will effect consumers in a positive way as you can see they will get better quality goods at a much lower price as well as being able to buy products that would otherwise not be available.
