Compare the intentions of Snowball and Napoleon in 'Animal Farm'.

Similarities

Both Snowball and Napoleon want to improve the quality of the lives of the animals.
They both contested and felt that they were the ones who were going to change Animal Farm.
They both initially appeared to agree with each other
They both fought for what they believed was the right thing for the farm

Differences

However, both pigs decided to persuade the animals in contrasting ways.
Snowball used rhetoric, resembling Old Major, whereas Napoleon decided to use force and manipulation towards the less intelligent animals who are more vulnerable.
However, they both contradicted each other's ideas, resulting in Napoleon urinating all over Snowball's plans for the windmill.
Napoleon thought that he would become a better leader than Snowball

Overall comparison

Overall, the intentions of Snowball and Napoleon changed as the narrative developed; however, we might say that their intentions had never changed, and that they would've continued to fight persistently for what was right.
