Advantages

  • The mother might not be financially or mentally stable
  • If the baby is going to live a life of pain and it is the kindest thing to do
  • " do the most loving thing"
  • Mother might not be old enough
  • Pro - choice: Mothers body, Mothers choice
  • Legal abortions stop backstreet abortions
  • The mothers life takes priority

Disadvantages

  • Sanctity of life
  • "Thou shall not kill"
  • Mother could suffer severe mental trauma
  • Pro - Life: foetuses are people too and deserve the right to life
  • other options, e.g: adoption, foster care
  • Life belongs to God

Evaluation

Abortion is terminating a pregnancy. Some people (especially religious people) view this as murder but other people do not believe that a fetus is even a person so therefore it is not murder.
