    • EXTENDED FAMILY
      • Other families live with you
      • Usually 3 generations living under one roof
      • White British families do not tend to live in this type of family
      • Indian families are much more likely to live in this family type - culture difference
    • SINGLE PARENT FAMILY
      • Divorce
      • Bereavement
      • Woman decides to have child when she does not have a partner - IVF or sperm donor
      • 'One night stand'
      • One of the parents left early on - could be mother or father
      • Rape
  • Sometimes families can live part time in nuclear families and part time in single parent families because one of the parents are in the forces.
