- Threats to Tropical Rainforests
- Fuelwood
- People in LEDCs use wood as fuel because it's cheap. However it isn't sustainable
- Timber
- Timber is the only affordable construction material. There is also the problem of exported timber like mahogany
- Agriculture
- As population density rises, more of the rainforest will be destroyed for farming
- Mineral Extraction
- Rich deposits under the rainforests could be an economic solution to many LEDCs
- Reservoirs
- Hydro-Electric Power (HEP) schemes result in flooded land and habitat destruction on land and in the water.
- Climate Change
- Higher global temperatures reduce the ability of air to hold water. This could hugely affect amphibians who need a moist atmosphere to survive
