  • The Krebs cycle (Matrix of Mitochondria)
    • 1) The 2 carbon Acetylecoenzyme A combines with a 4carbon molecule to produce a 6 carbon molecule
    • A series of oxidation and reduction reactions
    • 2) This 6 carbon molecule loses 2 carbon dioxide molecules. Leaving a 4 carbon molecule. It also loses hydrogens. This process yields one ATP molecule
    • 3)The 4 carbon molecule can now combine with another molecule of Acetylcoenzyme A to begin the cycle again
  • A series of oxidation and reduction reactions
