- The Design Argument
- How it leads to belief
- If the world has been designed, then it needs a designer -God.
- Seems to be evidence on Earth of design, for example gravity, it was obviously created to ensure humans stay on the Earth.
- The Earth is too complicated to have just fallen into place.
- Evolution could have been designed as we developed from simple life forms to complex humans, this doesn't just happen by accident
- Because the world is very complex people believe it needs a designer.
- A watch is so complex it needs a designer, therefore the Earth does
- How it DOESN'T lead to belief
- God is supposed to be omnibenevole-nt, which would mean he made a world that contains evil and suffering, eg. Volcanoes
- The world is much more complex than a watch, therefore they can't be compared.
- If God is the designer the argument won't just stop there, it means God needs a designer also.
- The Earth may have been created by mistake, it might just be a coincidence
- How it leads to belief
