      • A more reliable explanation for behaviour than looking at genetics and the environment as separate factors
      • Diathesis
        • A predisposition or vulnerability to mental disorder through abnormality of the brain or neuro-transmitters
      • A psychological theory that attempts to explain a disorder as the result of a stressful interaction
      • Can be caused by life events/ experiences
        • Family conflict
        • Abuse
        • Trauma
        • Problems at school
        • Could cause a trigger this without predisposition
      • Explains behaviour as both a result of biological and genetic factors and experiences due to stressful conditions
